This
class is designed for your little Dancer-To-Be. Children learn basic
movement skills such as Balance, Coordination,
Rhythm, and Structure. Your child will keep busy learning
Pre-Ballet, Pre-Tap, and Creative Movement.
Pre Dance II (Age
4-5) 45 Min Class @ $100.65 / 10 Weeks
Pre Dance II is designed to get your child motivated in dance.
The hour is spent developing the knowledge of Basic Ballet by
learning beginning positions, combinations, stretches, and
introduction to the barre. You will also be able to watch your
child progress in tap technique as they work on basic
tap progressions and combinations.
Oh,
and we always have a little time at the end of class to have a little
fun!
Pre Dance II Advanced (Age
4-5) 45 Min Class @ $100.65 / 10 Weeks
This class is designed for the dancer who wants to expand their
knowledge in Tap and Ballet. You will see them progress in
their technique and vocabulary as they learn more progressions
and combinations. You must have consent of an Instructor
to be placed in this class.

Novice Classes are broken down Into three 30 minute classes. This
gives you the freedom to choose whatever attracts your child's
interest. Whether it is the classic dance form of Ballet,
the toe-tapping sounds of Tap, or the up-beat style of Jazz -
take them all or choose your favorites. Your youngster is
sure to love them!
Novice Advanced

This class is designed for the dancer who has shown great
improvement and has advanced in their technique. Consent

This class is for the young Hip Hopper. Students learn
Contemporary Dance, also known as “Street” Dance. All music

choreography is age-appropriate. Your child learns basic

Hip Hop Boys
(Age 7 & Up) 30 Min Class
This class is designed for boys who want to let loose by
learning new combinations and isolation movements to "street"
style hip hop music.
Hip Hop Junior/Senior
(Age 9 and Up) 30 Min Class
This Hip Hop Class is for those children that love to get
“Funky”. Students learn new combinations and new ways
to isolate
movements.
Mini Clogging
(Age 5-8) 30 Minute Class
Clogging is a type of dance similar to Tap, but has a second set
of taps. Clogging can be found in two primary forms,
Irish and Country. Today, many Cloggers are performing to a variety
of music and styles. Your child is introduced to
the beginning technique of Clogging and Introductory
Combinations.
Intermediate Clogging
(Age 5-8) 30 Minute Class
This class is designed for the dancer who has shown great
progression and is ready for a challenge. Consent of an
Instructor is required for placement in this class.
Junior/Senior Clogging
(Age 9 & Up) 30 Min Class
This Class is designed to go further into the world of Clogging.
Watch your child progress, polishing the Introductory
Technique while adding many new and challenging combinations.

Stretching and Flexibility (Mini
& Junior) (Age
5 & Up) 45 Min Class
This class will concentrate on many stretching variations to
increase your child's flexibility. This is encouraged for
all dancers and tumblers, but is required for all dance
team members.
Adult Tap
45 Min Class
This
class is designed for those who want to have some fun; burning
off calories is an added BONUS! You will learn Basic Tap
technique along with fun combinations. No previous Tap
experience is required - come join us!

Team Information
Turning Pointe Dance Company Try-Outs will be held ON AUGUST 23,
2008.
Ages 5 and
OLDER
are welcome and encouraged to attend;
previous dance experience
is required.
There will be a $10.00
try-out fee, due on Try-Out date.
Black dance
apparel is required for the Try-Out.

Pre-Mini
Competition Team
(Age 5-8) This class is designed for the competition member-to-be. This
is a great introduction to the competition life! Your child increases
knowledge of Stage Awareness, Confidence,
Technique, and Stage Presence. You must have consent of an
Instructor to be placed in this class. Pre-Mini students will
attend two regional competitions per year.

Mini Competition Team
(Age 6-8)
The Mini Competition Team is for those children who have taken
Dance and are experienced in the world of Stage Performance.
Your child concentrates on developing Flexibility, Technique,
Stage Presence, Confidence, and Sportsmanship. The Mini
Competition Team Members are required to successfully complete a
series of Technical Elements prior to entering this class.
Consent of an Instructor is required. Dancers must audition at the
Try Outs in September for this team.

Junior Competition Team
(Age 9 and Up)
This Team is for the Dedicated Dancer - hours of Technique and
Rehearsal are required. Your child concentrates on advancing
Flexibility, Technique, Stage Presence, Confidence, and
Sportsmanship. There are a number of Technical Elements that
your child must master to be considered for this Team and
consent of an Instructor is required. Dancers must audition
at the Try Outs in September for this team.

(Age 9 and Up)
There are a number of Advanced Technical Elements that your
child must master to be considered for this Team and consent of
an Instructor is required. Dancers must audition at the Try Outs

Rehearsals
Group Rehearsals are held on Saturdays, times will be given
out in October. Each
child is required
to attend their weekly Technique Lesson, as well as Competition
Rehearsal on Saturdays. Attendance is very important and
encouraged.
Competitions
The
Competition Team competes in four Regional Dance Competitions
and One National Competition per Year. Please See Dance Director
Kimberly Dailey for Schedule of
Competitions.
All dancers will
have a chance to showcase their talents in the 4th Annual Kids
SPOT Dance Recital in June of 2009 at the Hononegah High School Performing Arts Center
.
Turning Pointe Dance Company
will also perform at this Recital; come enjoy a quality
