Meet Our Staff

Rebecca White, Coach/Instructor

Rebecca is our former Gym Manager and a significant member of the Kids SPOT family. Rebecca was an Elite Tumbler and Trampolinist, earning many local, state, and national titles. She has decided to work for Kids SPOT part time while pursuing her educational goals: Rebecca is studying to be a Pharmacist! Her sterling coaching record and history of commitment to our organization make us feel honored to have her stay on at Kids SPOT.

Katie Dohm, Cheer Director

As prior Captain of the Rock Valley College Spirit Squad, and a highly credentialed Cheer Coach and Judge, Katie has a wealth of knowledge to share. Her strong background in Cheer, combined with her education in Business Management & Leadership, adds a new level of quality to an already successful program.

Ashley McMullin, Coach

Ashley has been employed at Kids SPOT since we first opened our doors! She created the Kids SPOT Tumble Team, helped to create the Kids SPOT Cheer Team, and has been coaching Tumbling and Gymnastics since 2000. Ashley was an All Star cheerleaders from 1999 - 2004, and won National Champion in 2004 for Stunt Team. Ashley's favorite things include MySpace and her kids at KidsSPOT!

Dwight Hollins, Tumbling Coach

Meet our Elite/Advanced Coach. Dwight has been coaching Tumbling for years, and has taken his students from the beginner level to World competitions. He is also a active member of USTA and is a board member.

Julie Giacomelli, Instructor

Julie is a real powerhouse of an instructor, having more than a decade of experience in gymnastics as well as pursuing a Master's Degree in Speech & Language Pathology through Illinois State University. In her spare time, Julie works as a waitress. It is an understatement to say Julie is one of our most energetic and positive staff members. Find Julie working with the Pre-School Gymnastic Program, Gym Kids and Tumble Kids classes, as well as working in our Summer Camp Program ... she is the instructor with the biggest smile!

Tonya Maloney, Instructor/Birthday Parties/Camps Tonya started at Kids SPOT in August 2006, working first in the office and then expanding into an Instructor position in the gym. She performed on the Pom and Dance Team in High School and coached Poms for Belvidere Junior Tackle. A sophomore at Rock Valley College, Tonya is pursuing a career in Elementary Education and is our resident computer wizard. Tonya is one of our most dedicated and versatile employees, a credit to Kids SPOT.

Sheri Sinnaeve, Instructor/Birthday Parties/Camps

Sheri is very friendly and organized, and just LOVES KIDS! She started working for Kids SPOT in August 2007, coming to us as an athlete's Mom. Sheri has recently taken charge of scheduling your child's Birthday Party - see her for all your party-planning questions.

Ariel Atkins, Instructor

This is Ariel's first job and she is very enthusiastic about Kids SPOT. She has lots of experience: 4 years of competitive gymnastics (Level 8), 1 year cheerleading for Stephen Mack Middle School, and 2 years cheering for Hononegah High School. Ariel says she loves working with kids and she has the energy to keep up with their antics!

Lindsey Baxter, Instructor

The kids love Lindsey and so do her colleagues! She has been Tumbling since 6th grade and has been a Cheerleader for 4 years. On top of that, Lindsey is an Honor Student at Hononegah High School with a 4.4 GPA and tutors the youngsters at Ledgewood Elementary in her spare time. It is great to have Lindsey at Kids SPOT!

Stephanie Erickson, Instructor

Stephanie is an accomplished athlete and an Honor Student as well, with a 4.0 GPA at Hononegah High School. She has 9 years of Tumbling experience and 7 years of Cheer - Kids SPOT is excited to bring her experience and commitment to our programs!

Amanda Gaines, Instructor

If there was one word to describe Amanda, it might be "Upbeat"! Amanda has 10 years of experience in Cheer, 5 years in Dance, and 6 years in Tumbling. In her spare time, she plays softball and studies German. Amanda is working with the younger set at Kids spot, and you might even see her working Birthday Parties or in our Camp Programs. Amanda hopes to study Nursing in college someday. She also loves all things PINK!

Jenna Donehue, Instructor Jenna is one of our newer instructors, full of enthusiasm for working with kids. While she enjoys teaching, she hopes someday to become a Radiologist. When she isn't at work, Jenna loves horses and horseback riding.

Jack Rheingans, Instructor

Jack started with us in August, a student at Rockford Lutheran High School. His athletic skills have led him to play football, hockey, and baseball, as well tumbling and trampoline. He is also active in the Model UN Team. Jack likes Kids SPOT because "I like tumbling, trampoline, and people." We are pleased he is with us!

Susie Gorman & Shannon Beard, Piano Instructors

Rich Whitenack, Karate Instructor

With more than 15 years Martial Arts experience, Rich has trained in both traditional martial arts styles, as well as competing in amateur and professional kickboxing. Rich founded No Joke Martial Arts in December 2003, and is now collaborating with us in bringing his programs to the Roscoe area. We are pleased to welcome Rich to Kids SPOT!

Sheri Sinnaeve, Instructor/Birthday Parties/Camps

Tim Yapp, Camp & Events/Instructor

Tim interviewed for his position during a winter snowstorm, a testament to his enthusiasm and tenacity! His interest in Tumbling stretches back to age 6 and he began formal training a year later. His areas of training were Trampoline and Floor, and Honors include achieving 2nd Overall at Nationals! Tim currently attends RVC studying Business, planning for a transfer to NIU someday to study International Business. Why do you like working at Kids SPOT, Tim? He replies, "The positive atmosphere ... I really enjoy working with the children, seeing the smiles on their faces!" Tim's students feel lucky to have him - so do we!

Gloria Wiekert, Events/Birthday Parties

Gloria is a freshman at Rock Valley College, majoring in History and Pre-Law, and a member of the RVC Spirit Squad. She is also a successful competitor on her college Model United Nations Team! You may have seen Gloria dishing up ice cream at a local favorite, Dairy Haus. Gloria joined Kids SPOT in July of 2007 and has fit right in, working at the Front Desk most evenings. An excellent problem-solver and promoter of the positive spirit, Gloria is a Kids SPOT favorite!

Amy Hill, Young Explorers (Moms Day Out) Director

Her college background in Psychology has led her to her current pursuit: a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She has incorporated this knowledge into our new Young Explorers curriculum. We are so excited to have Amy in this role and enjoy her enthusiasm for our pre-school program!

Laurie Mueller, Young Rembrandts Art Director

DANCE STAFF

Kim Dencker, Dance Director

Meet our Dance Director, Kim! She has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, with a Minor in Dance, from the University of Wisconsin. Kim has enjoyed years of dancing, teaching, and choreography. Her passion for dance shows in her positive, unique teaching style. Let your child experience the wonderful world of dance with Kim and her staff at Kids SPOT -Turning Pointe Dance Academy.

Sarah Baior, Dance Instructor Sarah has been dancing since childhood, teaching dance and gymnastics as early as age 17. She took a break to raise her three beautiful girls (ages 11, 6, & 2)and returned to teaching again in 2006. Sara's experience with children, aside from being a Mom, includes having her own daycare and performing as a clown for six years. We are delighted to have a talented performer like Sarah at Kids SPOT!

Deb Johnson, Clogging Instructor Deb has been dancing since a young age and has enjoyed every minute of it! Deb's positive and supportive attitude has won the hearts of the dancers. Deb teaches Clogging here at Turning Pointe.

Training: Nutrition Wellness, cardiovascular training, & weightlifting

Membership: USA Gymnastic Instructor, USTA (United States Tumbling Association) Professional, and Roscoe Chamber of Commerce

Teresa Maloney and Susan Johnson have years of EXPERIENCE in the fields of fitness and youth programming, as well as the HEART for such programs, dedicated to providing healthy programming that is fun for children and their families.

Kathleen Tresemer, Administrative Coordinator

Kathleen has been a member of Kids SPOT since we opened our doors, coming to work for us in January 2007. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Child & Youth Care Administration. She has worked extensively in the fields of Child Welfare & Education, most recently serving as Executive Director of a large program for the developmentally disabled . Kathleen handles Kids SPOT's organizational, administrative, HR, & training needs; she also authors our News On The Spot Newsletter.

Gail Santopoalo, Team Accounts

Gail is the first person you meet when you enter the facility; she manages Team Accounts and is your go-to gal for billing and payments. She is respected and admired by her staff and our customers, and a positive force in all our programs.

Kimberly Dailey, Community Programs Director/Dance Director

Kim is not only the Director of our Dance program, but also in charge of all of or Community Programs. Kim helps make sure all of our programs run smoothly. Kim is in the office Monday-Friday and is always willing to answer questions or help with any questions you may have about Kids SPot.

SUPPORT STAFF

Patty Erwin, Purchasing Coordinator

Patty has worked at Kids SPOT since October 2005, both in the Office and in Purchasing. She is familiar with all of our programs and a positive force among the employees. Patty manages to secure costumes for dance, uniforms for the teams, and stocks a terrific Pro Shop. In addition, Patty keeps all the staff in 'Kids SPOT attire', so that families can spot their coaches, instructors, and camp counselors from the top of the bleachers! No easy task - thanks, Patty!

Shannon Slick, Reception/Birthday Parties

A junior at Hononegah High School, Shannon is an athlete on her high school Volleyball Team and the Travel Team. At this point, Shannon thinks she might pursue Education as a career, either in Math or Elementary Ed. Friendly and outgoing, Shannon has worked at Kids SPOT since March 2007, and enjoys interacting with both the families and the other employees. See her at the Front Desk, smiling and welcoming you!

Bryanne Thornbloom, Reception

Bryanne is a senior at Hononegah High School, and performs on her school Dance Team. When not working in the Front Office, she teaches some of the Dance classes at Kid SPOT. Bryanne enjoys teaching Tap and Ballet to the pre-school set, and has been a member of the Kids SPOT family since May 2007.
